STME is the high-tech R&D and technical support center, the popularization and application center of special technology and high-end products, and the window of technical exchange and cooperation of Sinopec in Saudi Arabia and the Middle East. Established in March 2018.The center consists of three departments, including general management department, technology and commerce department, and science and technology R&D department. The center has six professional laboratories specilized for drilling, cementing, drilling fluid, reservoir stimulation, rock mechanics and geochemistry, and has one workshop for downhole tools, with a total of 124 sets of equipment. The center has established three technical teams specialized for efficient well completion, unconventional oil and gas engineering, and big data & AI technology. In addition, the center and the China University of Petroleum (East China) had jointly applied to establish a 'China-Saudi Arabia One Belt One Road' Petroleum Energy laboratory, and has been approved by the Ministry of Science and Technology.
